16: Went down easy, but not my favorite. - Bill Smith

REPLY: Wow Bill, I brewed batch 16 on 2/28/25. This is a new record on letting it sit - 6 months! - Slawbeard

69: Nice and tart.
There was another citrusy batch I liked better. - Bill Smith

70: Liking this batch! - Tim T

REPLY: I too thought this was a bit different and pretty good as well. Lotus is the hop in it - Slawbeard

55, 58, 61: Had the pleasure of trying batches 55, 58, & 61. Batch 55 was good, but a little over citrusy 🍋‍🟩. 58 was much better and my favorite of the these 3 batches – less citrusy, brighter with a cleaner finish. Sad to say that batch 61… it not be refreshing. Has a weird feel/taste, almost metallic. Batch 53 (which we enjoyed a few weeks ago) is the best we’ve had so far. - Paul & Jeane

REPLY: Thanks again for the feedback. 58 matches up with 53, but with a 3rd hop added in. I'm out of the 53 hops. I agree on the 61 - that experimental hop was pretty bad - certainly bitter and good news, I don't have any more of it. Thanks again Paul for your helpful feedback. - Slawbeard

54: Production control – this one was less carbonated. 54 tastes a bit like a watered down Fresca, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Drank it all and better than most commercial available hop waters. Batch 53 (circa 2025) is our favorite so far. - Paul B & Jeane

53: Super refreshing! Hints of green tea and pineapple. 🍍 Jeane says it’s satisfying and good substitute for her prosecco. I experimented mixing with just a splash of rum – not bad, but vodka might have been better. It’s been awhile since we’ve had Slawbeard so hard to compare to other batches, but compared to commercial hop water this is the best. - Paul & Jeane

REPLY: Thanks for the great feed back. This was indeed a different kind of batch. I have yet to find any alcohol that actually pairs well with my hop water. Maybe I need a concentrate version to pair better with alcohol. - Slawbeard

47: Sadly my bottle wasn’t sealed well so it lost carbonation. Still tasted pretty good though. - Tim T

*46: It's not out yet - I was just lucky to be part of the focus group on #46 and I can say with confidence its Paul's BEST ONE YET!
Bold with rounded citrus notes, dense, inspiring color! This is serious hop water!! I'd pay $4+ at Whole Foods for just one bottle. Can't say enough good things about #46. PRE-ORDER when you get the chance! - roland huettel

42: The chinook on this was added during the fermentation step thus ruining my filter job. None-the-less, it really had a great aroma whilst doing so. I could smell the pineapple notes. Fast forward and bottle it. It was good, fine, ok, but not worth the hassle of fouling the batch with hop debris. I was a bit disappointed in the lack of actual fruity notes. Oh well. Just thought I’d tell the story here. - Slawbeard

4: This batch had juniper and other spices in it. The first released bottles were pretty good (much like batch 104)… but as the last bottles sat I believe the taste faded out into something else and not as good. Might have shorter shelf life with added stuff like juniper? - Paul

3: Had a bottle of this on a visit to Nomadic on 1/25. Shared it with Matt, and the Nomadic crew that day which was Heather and Kevin. They really liked it! Best Hop Water they’ve tasted. - Paul

104: Everybody who tried this liked it. Some didn’t pick up the juniper that was in it. But it was there and was nice. Repeated the juniper treatment on batch 4 (2025) - Paul

100: Tried it just now. Pretty mild. I might've waited a bit too long to try it. The carbonation fell off a bit and it has a bit of a metallic aftertaste. - Tim T

105: Delectable. Something a little different about this batch. - Matt

90: The Mosaic + El Dorado is working out well I think. First impressions are good and very tasty. Need more of these hops. What do others think? - Slawbeard

89: Winner, winner chicken dinner! 89 is super fine! - Matt

  11-12-2024 7:25 am

89: This is good. It has a bitter bite to it but then is really nice. Rose said maybe it is “balanced” on the bitter vs flavor. I’ll make it again. - Slawbeard

85: Good stuff. Big fan. - Matt

  11-03-2024 7:51 pm

85: This is really good. 👍 my note say it is like 56 and 65. More hops is better. This is also a bit more unique tasting than many others. Did have this 10 days after bottling. - Slawbeard

  10-29-2024 2:16 pm

83: Fine when first opened, it lost flavor quickly.
- Dennis B

84: Ahhhh. I think this ginger version is better than the 77 that many liked. Ginger is a bit more subtle but it’s there and very tasty. I give it a thumbs up 👍. Helps me forget about batch 83. - Slawbeard

  10-22-2024 3:23 pm

83: The pinkish one. Why pink? There were 100g of blueberries and 50g of stawberries added at the start. Turns out, this was a bad idea. The consensus is “I can drink it, but I’d never get it again”. So no more fruits in the mix unless there is a better way to pull this off. - Slawbeard

  10-19-2024 4:16 pm

81: Now that 81 sat for a bit, it’s pretty good! I’ll admit I had the b2 group which was 50% more concentrated than b1 (like most all my hop waters). None-the-less the taste is good when you have a clear palette. - Slawbeard

75: A little too weak for me - Tim

REPLY: yes, I've returned to the higher dosing of hops. - Slawbeard

77: This is a good one! Nice balance. - Tim

  10-08-2024 8:01 am

75: A little too hop-less… - Bruce

REPLY: Agreed. Batches 75-77 were all low-hopped as an experiment. Back up to a bit more normal amounts batches 78 and on. - Slawbeard

71: Liked it better than 68. Not sure if better than 58.
It had a nice bite, but not bitter. - Bill

70: How does this stuff age? 70 was great, but do you have batch #11 available to try? - roland huettel

REPLY: age? don't really know. I know some who've kept it for a month in fridge and it is fine. I've had some make it about a month. Not a lot of evidence for longer because people drink it. And where'd you come up with batch 11? As for batch 70 - tasty enough to try again. See batch 79! - Slawbeard

  09-12-2024 8:07 pm

66: Well I found a 66 and had it after the 69 that I just reviewed. I thought it was in the upper tier of my tries. This was really good. I think I might have 2 or 3 more of these at the back of the fridge. And look, 66 is just a remake of 57 which was well liked. Might have to repeat this one, although I have very little Chinook left. - Slawbeard

  09-12-2024 8:03 pm

69: This is a duplicate of 62, including the pitching of new yeast. It is good but is missing something that 62 had - I have no idea. I e tried 2 redos on 62 and neither was quite as good. Still, 69 is very tasty on its own. Maybe if it mellows a bit more? - Slawbeard

  09-10-2024 5:17 pm

66: 66 is a quality Hop Water as well. Really enjoying it. - Matt

  09-04-2024 11:48 am

62: Really like this one. Good on the nose and tastes good. Finishes clean. - Tim

  08-24-2024 2:52 pm

59: 59 is a little skunky and with a taste of artificial lemon juice. That said, we had this one second and it wasn’t quite as cold as 57. - Paul Burks

  08-24-2024 2:52 pm

57: Jeane and I are enjoying a Slawbeard tasting this afternoon. Batch 57 is really good, I think the best batch so far. It is well balanced between hoppy and smooth. We think 57 is a hit. - Paul Burks

29: Batch 29 is really great too. 28 and 29 are very similar and we like both. 28 has a slight more of hoppy citrus taste and lingers longer on the tongue. They would pair well with nice club sandwich and fries. - Paul
